When Hanna came to the United States - we had no idea what the temperament of this breed was. In Portugal - they are working hunting hounds and live in a pack with the bulk of their human contact coming during the Boar or Stag hunt. Hanna was raised much as we would raise a dog - in the house and underfoot and her personality can be annoying, exhuberant, and so happy to see everyone that she is, during training classes, the greeter. Making sure that she checks on everyone coming in (human or canine)making sure they are welcome. This however is a bit annoying when you are trying to work on Agility equipment or Rally skills. But then again - how can you be critical of such a friendly creature.
Hanna and Tobiana - Medio Wire from Arizona
Looks like Playtime to me - Hanna is always ready to greet another dog or a person or those little people who drop food or have crumbs on them.
Judi from North Dakota did not escape Hanna's attention
Marco from Michigan meets Hanna in Indiana
Sarge the Basenji meets Hanna for the first time
2 months after coming to the US - Sarge is no longer Bigger than Hanna
This friendly nature appears to extend to all dog breeds - she has yet to meet and enemy or a dog she cannot charm with her butt in the air antics. However - her batting her paw in the 'head KERTHUNK" is not always appreciated by small humans or canines.
Ha - she's my mom now!
In total lack of consideration for other dogs feelings - she will steal their moms in a very insistent manner. Here she is telling the Whippet on the left - too bad fo you.
